In the News: Guthrie’s in Columbus

Guthrie's in Columbus

You may have tried their chicken fingers in Auburn or Opelika. The next time you have a craving, though, you won’t have to travel far. In fact, you can head right to the newly-opened Guthrie’s in Columbus, located on Macon Road. Yes, please!

About Guthrie’s

Tasty food from humble beginnings. The very first Guthrie’s, created by Auburn University grad Hal Guthrie, opened in Haleyville 1965. It also featured burgers and steak sandwiches.

Over the years, its delicious recipes have reached new fans and new locations. Guthrie’s also decided to make a change in the early 1980s: switching to a chicken-fingers-only model. Well, it certainly seems to have worked out for them!

Now, the restaurant has turned into a chain, with around 40 restaurants all across the country. It’s even reached states like Florida, Tennessee, and Ohio. And now, it’s Columbus’ turn to enjoy the latest location.

More on the new restaurant

Earlier this June, Guthrie’s officially opened its newest restaurant with a special grand opening. Its building may also look a bit familiar! Formerly, the location housed a midtown Taco Bell. They’ve traded chalupas for chicken fingers—and we can’t wait to try some!

Flipping through the menu

You’ve heard about their chicken fingers! While those may be their most iconic menu item, they also have a few more classics. Here’s what else you can find on the menu:

  • Texas toast;
  • Chicken finger sandwiches;
  • Slaw;
  • Sweet tea;
  • French fries;
  • And more.
