Mike & Ed’s Barbecue
Mike and Ed’s Barbecue was started in 1985 by Mike Gullat and Ed Cook in Phenix City, Alabama. Adding new recipes over the years and tweaking the old ones, the two have won many awards and fed hundreds of happy customers. Soon after, they began to expand and now have several locations—and even added a catering service.
The new Columbus location for Mike and Ed’s Barbecue opened its doors on August 10 and was met with an overwhelming amount of support. Owner Russell Brown told WTVM News Leader 9 that even before they were open, many eager people would see the sign and stop by to ask when they were opening. Brown expressed thanks and stated that he is happy the community is just as excited for the restaurant’s return to Columbus as he is.
